Climbing Mt Meru in Tanzania
Mount Meru 4,566m/14,980ft) in Tanzania's Arusha National Park is a challenging 3–4-day hike offering panoramic views of Kilimanjaro, dramatic crater scenery, and wildlife viewing without the crowds. Often used for high-altitude acclimatization, it requires an armed ranger and focuses on the Momella Route. The trek features steep, often snowy sections near the peak, with overnight stays in mountain huts.
